Transport from Airports to Islands
Cruise companies such as Fantasea Cruises and Cruise Whitsundays provide ferry transfers to Daydream Island, Lindeman Island, Long Island, South Molle Island, Brampton Island and more.  Some resorts offer private transfers for their guests.

Air transfers by helicopter, light aircraft or seaplane are available from Great Barrier Reef Airport, Hamilton Island and the smaller non-commerical Whitsunday Airport located between Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour. Services are available with Air Whitsunday, Aviation Adventures and Aviation Tourism .

Train
Queensland Rail Traveltrain services include the Tilt and Sunlander Train, linking Proserpine to the coastal centres between and including Brisbane and Cairns. Connecting coaches operate to Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour.
 
Bus
Cairn’s local bus company, Sunbus, provides regular services throughout the city and suburbs.  Whitsunday Transit is the Whitsunday’s local bus, coach and private shuttle bus service.  There are shuttle bus services also available on selected islands off the Queensland coast.

Taxi
In Cairns, a 24-hour taxi service is provided by Black and White Taxis.  Taxi ranks are located in the central city areas, at shopping centres and other facilities.  Taxi services are also available in Port Douglas and Airlie Beach. 
 
Roads
The Bruce Highway connects Tropical North Queensland to Brisbane.  It links Queensland's major coastal cities and towns, including Proserpine, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.  The scenic Captain Cook Highway connects Port Douglas to Cairns. 
 
Airport
The Cairn’s airport has an international and domestic terminal.  The Whitsundays is serviced by two airports,Great Barrier Reef Airport, Hamilton Island (HTI) and Whitsunday Coast Airport, Proserpine (PPP).
